TechnoWar - An intra mca department competition got underway at my college today. Since we are the organizers, the technical events was open only to our juniors, but the good thing is that the sports events is open to all. All the events are scheduled for after class hours, so that regular classes are not affected.
I initially had no intention to participate in any sports, but at the last possible minute decided to participate in today’s events; Chess and Carrom. I have not played both these games for a long long time, so was completely out of touch with it. For me the event began with the first round of chess, where I won comfortably, this was immediately followed by the first round of carrom, where me and my partner were found wanting, and a bit of practice would have been of lot of help. We somehow regained some touch near the end, and made a good game out of it, before losing it. Then came the second round of Chess, which I managed to just win by stretching the time a bit. The third round of Chess began the same minute I ended the second round, so had no time to relax and hence in the game, I made a couple of mistakes. First I tried to play a bit fast and secondly let the opponent make the same move he used to win the previous game he played. These mistakes proved a bit costly and I lost the game very quickly. Congratulations to all those won, and also those who took part in the most sportive spirit. Overall I had a lot of fun and enjoyed every moment of it. Winning and losing is all in the game, but enjoying every moment is also important, and I am glad I was able to do that.
On the technical side, today the coding event was held, since I was involved in the sports, I do not know how it went. Regardless, it is really good that in the final few days before the end of the college days, we are really having a lot of fun and enjoying every moment of it. These competitions are going to continue with various events being scheduled for 5-6 more days
