The tree in question is one that I’ve seen ever since I was a kid, right in front of my house. Seems the ol’ tree was around forever. Must be a hundred years old or something. And now it makes way for progress - a four lane concrete road. Off with the old, on with the new as they say.
Well, they ain’t cutting it down. No siree, they’re just moving it. Huh, you say? Yep, they dug a huge pit about a hundred metres away (on the other side of the crossroad), pulled up this tree with the roots, and as I write this, they’re moving the tree with the help of a coupla huge cranes. I sit here in my room, lookin thru the window, as ‘Operation Ctrl-X Ctrl-V’ happens.
Oh, and the building in the background? That’s my good ol’ alma mater.
